Jury Pool for the RAD Race Edition
2006/7
The RAD Race is closely monitored by members of our independent expert
jury pool, consisting of:
- Herbert Boland is media and internet consultant
for Beatrijs Media Group and
former editor in chief of various leading IT magazines, mainly in
the field of database programming and design and software development,
which he has co-founded.
- Luc Chauvin is ICT Manager for the Ministery
of the Flemish Community: involved in the long term ICT strategy
development, responsible for the ICT service delivery for the different
departments through a global ICT outsourcing contract with EDS/Telindus.
- Dirk Deschoolmeester is a professor in ICT; partner
of Vlerick
Leuven Gent Management School and professor at Gent Univrsity.
He is a member of the board of SAI
and chairman of FBVI-FAIB.
- Jan De Sutter is CFO working in the administration of the
EU. He was elected ICT Manager 2000 in the DataNews ICT Manager
Contest and is the author of the besteller The
Power of IT - Survival Guide for the CIO. His main interest
is not technology as such, but how technology can be used to create
value in the context of an organisation.
- Jan Detremmerie is an interim manager and consultant
focusing on ICT project and program management. He has hands-on
experience organising and running ICT departments and product development,
including sales. His career has taken him all over Europe and as
far as the US and Japan where he lived for several years. Manager
of m-COM, member of the IEEE ,
Computer Society and active
in the Open Source Technical Activity Board, member of ISOC.
- Peter Hinssen is the founder of e-COM (founded
in 1995, acquired by Alcatel), StreamCase (founded in 2000, acquired
by Belgacom) and Porthus (founded in 1999). He is the chairman of
Porthus, coach of Amplexor
and partner of The Originals.
He was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at McKinsey & Company, and
is a frequent international lecturer.
- Stephan Jansen is founder and chairman of the
Belgian Java User Group since
1996 and founder of JavaPolis in 2002. He is founder and managing
director of JCS Int. a Sun authorized
Java Center.
- Jacques Tiberghien is professor at the Vrije
Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and lecturer at the Université
Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He obtained the degree of electro-mechanical
engineer from the ULB, a PhD in engineering from the VUB and was
visiting scholar at the University
of California at Berkley. He is Senior Member of the IEEE,
Golden Core member of the IEEE
Computer Society, member of ACM,
of Euromicro and of many smaller scientific and professional organizations.
- Guido Van Humbeeck is member of the board of
SAI and Senior Enterprise Strategy
Consultant at Microsoft. He has over 20 years experience in application
development and ICT in general. During his career he was involved
in several strategic projects where the latest technologies .NET
and J2EE are used. Architecture, from business to technology, is
his key interest.
- Jan Vanthienen is professor in ICT at K.U.Leuven
where he teaches and researches on Information Systems, Management
and Intelligence. He is a founding member of the Leuven Institute
for Research in Information Systems (LIRIS),
and chairholder of the PwC E-Business Chair and the Microsoft Chair
on Intelligent Environments.
- Ivan Verborgh is head of administration and IT
in a healthcare facility. He
is the driving force behind the RAD Race in concept, preparation
and "hands-on" realisation. He is the author of all the
RAD Race cases since 1997. Mr. Verborgh is member of the ICT group
of MOVI; guest lecturer
in IT at the Provinciale Hogeschool
Limburg and author for Informatie. He was elected "Datanews
ICT Manager 2004" - First Nominee Small & Medium Sized
Businesses.
